Historical significance: Banknotes issued between late 1979 and 1981 are known as surcharge notes, characterised by an arabesque overprint that obscures the King's portrait. Subsequently, the watermark (filigran) was modified to further conceal the portrait, leading to the creation of entirely new designs. These changes were implemented in chronological order by the renowned printing company De La Rue. The notes feature a range of ink colors, including light green, dark green, and black. Due to their limited circulation period, they are considered rare and highly sought after by collectors.
